Cod Fish Fritters

 

 

I grew up eating Cod Fish Fritters all my life. This is a traditional dish in a Puerto Rican household. The good thing is that it is really quick to do and delicious.

I love cooking latin food is in my blood. I use traditional latin seasoning.

Ingredients needed for this is

  1. 2 cups of All Purpose Flour
  2. Salted Cod Fish
  3. 1 Tablespoon of Onion Powder
  4. 1 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
  5. A pPackage of Sazon with Achote
  6. 1 Tablespoon of Oregano
  7. 1 Tablespoon of Cilantro
  8. 1 Tablespoon of Scallions
  9. Oil

First thing first, wash off all the salt from the Cod Fish, put to boil for about half an hour.

Shred it after it cools down.

Remove the Cod Fish from the boiling water. Do not throw out that water where the Cod Fish was boiled. Let it cool down.

Add all of your dry ingredients, Scallions and Cilantro in a bowl, mix together.

The water that was boiling the Cod Fish is the water you’re going to add into the dry ingredients. You need no salt to add on to this. The water is slightly salted.

Now how watery or thick you want it is up to you. I like mine watery, it gives it a thin texture to it as oppose to being a thick Fritter. Is up to you, I added half  cup of  the water where the Cod Fish was boiled and half of cup of regular water. The water where the Cod Fish was boiled is a little salty even thou I washed off all the salt off.

Have a pot with oil on the stove. To test the oil you add a pinch of the mixture and if it sizzles is ready.

These are good to snack on.
